The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has closed down Sajjad Restaurant at Do Darya, Karachi, citing tax evasion and non-compliance, a statement released on Thursday confirmed.
According to the board, this action was prompted by ongoing non-compliance with the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011.
In its ongoing efforts to enforce tax regulations, the SRB reported the closure of Dawat, an event management company located in Khayaban-e-Bukhari, Phase VI, DHA.
Both Sajjad Restaurant and Dawat were found to have underreported their sales, resulting in Sindh Sales Tax (SST) evasion, and they failed to file required tax returns despite repeated notices from the SRB.
Furthermore, Sajjad Restaurant neglected to integrate its Point of Sales (POS) system with the SRB’s invoicing system as per the regulations.
The SRB emphasized its commitment to maintaining public revenue integrity by taking similar actions against non-compliant service providers in Sindh.
