An Uber customer in Noida was shocked to find a bill worth crores after what seemed like a routine auto ride. Deepak Tenguriya booked an auto ride through Uber India, expecting a fare of just ₹62. However, upon reaching his destination, he was presented with a staggering bill of ₹7.66 crore on his app, even though the driver hadn’t ended the ride yet.
The incident came to light after Deepak’s friend Ashish Mishra shared a clip on social media. In the video, the two can be heard discussing the exorbitant bill, with Deepak mentioning the jaw-dropping amount of ₹7,66,83,762.
As Deepak flashed his phone screen, it showed that he was charged ₹1,67,74,647 as the trip fare, with waiting time costs amounting to ₹5,99,09189, and a promotion cost deduction of ₹75.
Deepak expressed disbelief that waiting charges were included since the driver didn’t have to wait for him. He also denied the inclusion of GST charges in the bill.
In a light-hearted moment, Deepak joked that he had never encountered this many zeros before. Adding to the humor, Ashish remarked that not even a trip to the moon would cost as much.
Following the viral post, Uber India’s Customer Support page issued an apology, assuring that they were investigating the matter.
