Quetta blast left 27 dead, dozens wounded

QUETTA: About 27 individuals were dead and 50 others wounded Wednesday in two partitioned blasts focusing on Election candidates in Balochistan, one day before polls in Pakistan.
A three-day grieving period has been reported by CM Balochistan to grieve the misfortune of lives in both assaults, Caretaker Information Minister Jan Achakzai said in a presser.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of the blow and summoned a report from Balochistan chief secretary and Examiner general of Police (IGP).
A representative for the ECP said directives have been issued to require process against those included in such incidents.
Talking with Media, Kakar said that the burst happened in a cruiser exterior his election office.
“Eight of our workers were martyred and more than 18 were wounded within the blast when the names of the surveying operators were being finished within the election office,” he said.
